We were present at the opening of Paralelo 45, the new wine bar of the capital. With exquisite decoration, the new space opens its doors at Rua Castilho for a relaxed late afternoon or an exquisite evening.

The new wine bar in downtown Lisbon sets the mood for a perfect day to end. The décor reminds us of the elegance of Versailles, but without losing the current touch: colors sway perfectly between the gray tones, from the floor to the walls, and stronger tones, present at the tables and in the high chairs. The long balcony at the entrance invites you to cross the entire space, from the entrance door to the living room with the exposed wines. From white to red, there are high quality brands from different countries to satisfy all tastes.

In this small room, we were presented with samples of the tapas served in Paralelo 45 and their most popular ingredients. From diverse European recipes, the tapas menu offers tasty options, always nicely presented.

After a glass of French, sweet and light white wine, discover the delights with the variety of cheese dishes in its main role. The fig covered with toasted goat cheese shows how two distinct flavors, sweet and savory, match so well. The toasted sandwich with notes of true Dijon mustard warms the palate, but afterwards freshened up with a roll of ceviche or mozzarella burrata mousse garnished with colorful flowers.

In addition to these delicacies, you can find fine slices of Iberian ham, which the chef cuts at the spot and a delicate caviar. Accompanied by the taste of various wines, the smiles and conversations unfold as we are directed towards our tables in the main hall - and where the tapas trays follow us.

In a friendly way, we felt the constant presence of the owners who risked leaving some of their lives in France. Camille and Emmanuel walked through the room with friendly words for visitors: there is talk of how Lisbon is a charm and how everyone is expected to enjoy the afternoon for the best. The taste of this couple for the weekends in Portugal culminates in the love of regional products, such as the desire to open in Lisbon a meeting place for various gastronomies. This is how Paralelo 45 was born in the capital, on a crossroad of trips and experiences.
