Parques de Sintra company is the world's best in preservation

It is the fourth consecutive time that the Portuguese company receives this distinction

The company Parques de Sintra received the World Travel Award for "Best Company in the World in Preservation". This is the fourth consecutive time that the Portuguese company receives this distinction. The awards ceremony took place on 2 December in the Maldives. In addition to having won the first prize, Parques de Sintra was the only company nominated in this category.

The World Travel Awards are a kind of Tourism Oscars, created in 1993, which reward for excellence in various sectors of the tourism industry. These awards represent one of the most important distinctions within the industry, being awarded by the visitors themselves, who together with other tourism professionals choose the winners through voting.

"To win for the fourth consecutive time such a prestigious prize is to revalidate the international recognition of the work of merit that the Parks of Sintra has been developing in recent years, especially in terms of preservation and restoration of the parks and monuments it manages," said the administrator of the Parques de Sintra, José Lino Ramos, who went to receive the prize to the Maldives.

In 2015, the parks and monuments managed by the Parques de Sintra received more than 2.2 million people. This year, the Portuguese company, which uses only the revenue generated for the management of the spaces, expects to exceed two and a half million visitors.
