Wine Spectator includes a Portuguese wine, that does not exceed €10

The top 100 of the US magazine Wine Spectator has already been released and includes four Portuguese wines, one of which is from the Dão region, leading the national proposals. Contrary to what happened in 2014, none of them are in the top 10 list, but as in 2015, Portugal has the cheapest wines among the hundred wines once again.

On 46th place is Quinta de Cabriz, harvest of 2014. This Dão wine costs just over € 9 and is described by Wine Spectator director Kim Marcus, having "concentrated flavours of dark cherry, roasted plum and dried raspberry". The other three wines are all from Alto Douro Vinhateiro, which has now celebrated its= 15 years at Unesco World Heritage Site.

The Evel 2014 of Real Companhia Velha (€ 12) is on the 50th place, having reached the milestone of becoming 260 years old in 2016. Carm Reserva (€ 20), a 2012 red wine, occupies 69th place and is considered "soft and rich, with a creamy touch". The last Portuguese wine to be included in the list is Lemos & van Zeller Quinta Vale D. Maria of 2013 (€ 64), which occupies the 80th position. On the top of the list is Napa Valley, Lewis Cabernet Sauvignon, 2013.
