Let yourself be dazzled by the extraordinary beauty of the natural landscapes of this country

Lisbon is considered one of the most entertaining capitals in Europe and attracts more and more tourists from all over the world. However, it is not only the capital that is worth visiting in Portugal. Stay with us to discover the places that you have to see in this sunny country, washed by the Atlantic ocean.

“Aldeia dos Hobbits” or Val de Poldros, Monção

This village, located in the north of the country, is an example of architecture of mountain villages connected to transhumance. It is a bland, that is, a village where the watchmen lived in summer to take the cattle to richer pastures, being abandoned starting September, when they descended to their original settlements. This village became known as the Hobbits village, because of the similarities to the verdant scenery of the film Lord of the Rings.

Observation of São Leonardo da Galafura, Douro

This is one of the most enigmatic sights of the Douro region and allows you to admire the Douro valley in its splendor. The beauty of the viewpoint of St. Leonardo da Galafura (on the photo) is such that it inspired the famous Portuguese poet Miguel Torga: "The sublimated Doiro. The wonder of a landscape that ceases to be such by the uncontrolled force. There is a panorama that eye beholds: is an excess of nature".

Vale Glaciar do Zêzere, Serra da Estrela

The Zêzere Glacier Valley is a wonder of nature that shows the traces of glaciation for thousands of years. U-shaped, Europe's largest Glacier Valley, enjoys unrivaled geological beauties and biogenetic reserves of high natural and scenic value. Explore the Glacier Route, which runs from the Torre da Serra da Estrela to the Manteigas village.

Arquipélago das Berlengas, Peniche

One of the most pristine and wild paradises of Portugal is the Berlengas archipelago, situated approximately six miles from Cape Carvoeiro. It consists of three small islands, Berlenga Grande, Estelas and Farilhões and only the first that is populated, considerably less now. This small paradise, a few kilometers from Peniche, has some of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal and remains relatively unknown. The boat trip (round trip), which lasts about half an hour, costs € 20 per adult and € 10 per child from 5 to 12 years.
