“Aldeia dos Hobbits” or Val de Poldros, Monção

This village, located in the north of the country, is an example of architecture of mountain villages connected to transhumance. It is a bland, that is, a village where the watchmen lived in summer to take the cattle to richer pastures, being abandoned starting September, when they descended to their original settlements. This village became known as the Hobbits village, because of the similarities to the verdant scenery of the film Lord of the Rings.

Arquipélago das Berlengas, Peniche

This small paradise, a few kilometers from Peniche, has some of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal and remains relatively unknown.
