The American food fans can rejoice, as starting September they have a snack bar, called Hottie, at Avenida da Liberdade, made to the best of American style, but with Portuguese products. The specialty of the house are: the hot dogs, served on brioche bread with three types of sausages to choose from: bratwurst, frankfurter or vegetarian.

In the decoration of the space stands out the red neon advertising on the door, high banks and long tables. The menu is the responsibility of the chef André Ferreira, who lived in London and worked in the kitchen of Jamie Oliver’s Diner and Dirty Bones.

In Hottie you will find hot dogs: Machete, pork, barbecue sauce, jalapeños, sour cream, chives and guacamole, or Tokyo with ginger, crunchy seaweed, sesame seeds, wasabi mayonnaise and miso ketchup. As in American barbeques you can choose BBQ baby back ribs, spare ribs with marshmallows and chives, accompanied by handmade barbecue sauce, and spicy chicken wings with lemon frosting.

As for the garnish, you can opt for the classic American mac & cheese, grilled vegetables or the fried corn with lime and sweet pepper. As for prices, hot dogs cost between € 3.5 and € 4.5 and the garnish between € 2 and € 4. The space has 18 seats, but you can also opt for the take-away.
