Lonely Planet considers Lisbon the 18th best destination in the world
The travel guide publisher includes Lisbon and the Azores - as the best travel destinations in the world
The Lonely Planet, publisher of travel guides, ranked Lisbon as the 18th best destination in the world to discover. The publisher classifies the Portuguese capital as affordable, pleasant and with an increasing offers of enjoyment opportunities. The Spanish newspaper El País highlights the Judaism museum, which will be inaugurated in Alfama next year and the exhibitions at the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, the Berardo Collection Museum and the Belém Cultural Center.
The Azores occupy the 23rd place in the ranking and Lonely Planet considers it to be "the next Iceland". It stands out for its natural charm, volcanoes, medieval villages, thermal baths and cliffs. The publication highlights that this archipelago attracts more and more tourists, registering a 30% increase in visits in the last year 2015.
