Pestana opens new hotel unit in the village of Óbidos

Pestana continues to work on the recovery of classified heritage and the creation of a differentiated tourism product

Pestana Hotel Group presented yesterday the first phase of Pousada Vila de Óbidos, located inside the walls of the medieval village, in the area of the former Misericórdia Hospital. This building constitutes the first nucleus of the expansion of the brand, now providing 17 rooms. At the beginning of next year, Pousadas de Portugal will inaugurate Estalagem do Lidador (nucleus 2) with 11 new rooms just 150 meters away. The new nucleus triple the hotel capacity in the village, representing an investment in the total value of 2 million euros.

During the institutional ceremony, representatives of the Administration of the Pestana Hotel Group, Enatur, Santa Casa da Misericórdia and regional entities attended. Luís Castanheira Lopes, President of the Pestana Pousadas Group, highlighted in his speech the importance of this project, stating: "We continue the history of Pousadas in the recovery of classified heritage and in the creation of a tourism product of quality and differentiated, made for more than 75 years. With this project, Pousadas de Portugal maintains its strategic line of recomposition of the network through the establishment of better locations, offering its superior quality product wherever there is demand, and returning the choice to buildings with great significance and patrimonial relevance and architecture, giving consistency to its offer and accentuating its differentiation. "

Pousada da Vila de Óbidos features two characteristic V-shaped facades and has 17 rooms divided into three types - Pousada, Superior and Premium - and have carefully selected furniture, providing a cozy atmosphere that excels for comfort and authenticity. All rooms are equipped with 21st century facilities and offer the unique experience of sleeping in a 17th century building overlooking the medieval village. The unit has an inviting breakfast area that extends through the interior patio of the unit. The first meal of the day is traditionally made up of regional specialties and organic products.
