No celebration is complete without sugary delights

Christmas is a time of family, forgiveness, help ... and sweets! Many delicious ones with coffee help us deal with the temperatures that persist to decrease. Find out which sweets you should taste in the capital.

Christmas cake croissant in Sam Croissants

Do you like Christmas cake? Are you a fan of French croissants? Then you will be thrilled. Sam Croissants, a Lisbon bakery specializing in production of croissants, has created a croissant with the taste of the Christmas cake. After many trials and errors, the brioche dough has enriched liquor, almond, cherry, typical candied fruits and powdered sugar.

Troncos à francesa da L’Éclair

Christmas rolls are already a tradition, both in Portugal and in France. However, they are not done in the same way in both countries. L’Éclair, in Lisbon, makes the Bûche de Noël in French fashion. Instead of the bread based rolled loaf, the roll consists of a mousse. There is Bûche de Noël Raspberry, with Iranian pistachio mousse and bavaroise of Alentejo raspberries, and the classic chocolate trunk with Delta organic coffee mousse, Valrhona chocolate mousse and creamy vanilla Tahiti filling.

Bolos internacionais da Eric Kayser

The bakery Eric Kayser will launch a new festive sweetness every week, counting down until Christmas. It is a kind of advent calendar with cakes of various origins, linked to childhood. The last two candy releases until Christmas are Noel's Bûche, Christmas trunk with chocolate mousse filling, and the French classic Saint-Honoré, choux stuffed with chocolate, cream and praline cream, under a puff pastry base. You can also opt for Christmas cakes (bolos rei e rainha), a king cake or stollen , a brioche with dried sugary fruits.
