"O Novo Palácio do Nicolau" addresses the holiday season and the climate change

From 14 to 23 December, you will be able to watch the show "O Novo Palácio do Nicolau" which is going to be projected on the Arch of Rua Augusta in Lisbon. Video-mapping shows are already a holiday tradition in Terreiro do Paço, attracting a crowd of people every year. This year the stories projected on the Arch of Rua Augusta aim to raise public awareness on the effects of climate change.

This show is free and will be displayed every day in three sessions: at 7:00 p.m., 7:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. It is promoted by the Tourism Association of Lisbon, in partnership with the Equipment Management and Cultural Animation Company (EGEAC) and the Lisbon City Council. "O Novo Palácio do Nicolau" is produced by Bridge in partnership with Grandpa's Lab.

In "O Novo Palácio de Nicolau", Christmas is in danger of not happening, because the Palace of Nicholas, at the North Pole, situated on a slope near a snowy mountain, was totally destroyed by an avalanche. Nicholas leaves to seek help on a journey through the four corners of the planet. During this trip, he takes notice of the effects of global warming.

This animation features several mythical animals such as the flying whale, fluorescent anemones and environments ranging from sea to starry skies, forests with giant sequoias, lava volcanoes and reefs. Designed for all types of audiences and age groups, this show aims to send a message about how a man reacts and treats the world, in which he lives. It also has a voice-over.
