Chocolate Festival starts in Lisbon today

Four days dedicated to the sin of gluttony

Today, on December 1st, the Chocolate Festival - Festival do Chocolate, officially begins at Jardim da Luz in Carnide. The event, which presents foods based on cocoa, is organized by the parish board of Carnide and lasts for four days and is free of charge. In the various stalls present at the event you will find chocolates, waffles, churros, crepes, cupcakes and hot chocolate, as well as lozenges, cheese and chocolate chopsticks.

The festival starts at 3:00 p.m. and lasts until 10:00 p.m. On Friday and Saturday the schedule is longer, from 11:00 in the morning to 00:00 at night. In addition to sweets, the show also features traditional handicrafts. This initiative is a part of the Christmas celebrations of the parish, which also includes a concert at the Church - Igreja da Luz on December 14 and opening with illumination and nativity scene at Largo Bandstand.
