The Guide to Accessible Tourism - "Lisboa para todos", which was launched on December 3, is aimed at a very specific audience - people, moving around, using the wheelchair. The guide comes as a result of measuring the Pedestrian Accessibility Plan developed, by the Lisbon Municipal Council, aimed at promoting accessibility for people with disabilities or reduced mobility.

This project was accomplished in partnership with the Lisbon Tourism Association and aims to inform people, who prepares to visit Lisbon and wants to ensure greater safety and comfort during the trip. All targeted equipment and services guide ensure minimum conditions to ensure that the tourists on a wheelchair are able to enter the building, move independently inside, use the services and conveniently use a toilet, adapted to people´s physical condition.

A network of pedestrian routes was created in Belém, Baixa / Cais do Sodré and Parque das Nações. There are two types of routes, the green, that can be driven on independently and orange, which is more uneven. This guide is available in Portuguese and English, there are 23 hotels, 28 restaurants, 6 gardens and belvederes, and 18 tourist attractions. Lisbon also suggests 5 accessible routes: 2 in the Lisbon region and 4 in central Portugal. The pocket book has 96 pages and dedicates a chapter to transport and its accessibility conditions.
