Porto celebrates 20 years as a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Invicta is now living a strong movement of urban regeneration
At the beginning of this month, Oporto celebrated two decades of the classification of its historic center as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Invicta now lives a strong movement of urban regeneration, fostered by the high interest of investors and tourists, trying to reconcile private interests with the preservation of heritage.
In the last three years, the historic center of Porto has received between 150 and 200 urban rehabilitation works per year, which bought the momentum of this market in Invicta. Tourism is one of the current challenges of the historic center, and has already increased the tax on local accommodation, a measure that will take effect in 2017. Also next year will be applied different rates of IMI in areas classified by UNESCO to condition a rampant tourism.
