Lisbon in the rain

What to do in Lisbon while it rains

Visit a palace or go to a teahouse or coffeeshop, are few proposals if you do not know what to do in Lisbon while it rains

Was it Lisbon, that promised to enjoy the sunshine on one of the rooftops or on the beach and suddenly a gray and rainy scenery came across? Do not be discouraged, because the city offers many alternatives to face the bad weather and enjoy this destination.

Visit the beautiful Palácio Nacional da Ajuda

Visiting one of the beautiful palaces of Lisbon is a good plan for the rainy days. The Palácio Nacional da Ajuda is a copy of the magnificence of the Portuguese monarchy and worth taking a lengthy visit to. It was the last residence of the Portuguese royal family in Lisbon, after the 1755 earthquake, deciding to move to the hill of Ajuda to stay safe.

The palace, as was constructed at the time, was never completed due to the French invasion. What you can visit today is only part of the original design, which included one of the largest palaces in Europe, that posessed gardens which reached the Tagus. Nevertheless, it continues to have a magnificent and extremely well decorated interior. You will be particularly impressed with the Throne Room, the Hall of the Great Dinners and the Order of the room.

This memorial was restored and, therefore, continues to receive official occasions up to the present day. You can visit two of its floors, which form an impressive museum of decorative arts ranging from the fifteenth century to the twentieth century. Watch out on the dinner service, which is one of the few in Europe that remains intact.

Spend hours of fun in Login Laser Tag

If you are familiar with the TV series How I met your mother, you probably know the concept of laser tag, favorite hobby of the character Barney Stinson.

The  Login Laser Tag is the largest laser tag arena of the Iberian Peninsula, covering an area of 1000 m2 which has also a bar, terrace and games machines.
In this space you can also organize corporate events, as well as bachelor parties and birthdays.

This activity is similar to paintball but without the traditional paint balls, but electronic markers that trigger infrared beams (which are painless, and not harmful). The goal is to eliminate the opposing players and, like all devices emit sounds and lights that recreate an authentic battlefield environment, is an activity that makes adrenaline to break free just as at paintball.

And the best is that it is an activity you can do in Lisbon while it rains.

Go drink cappuccinos and eat scones at Café Saudade Café Saudade

Nothing is better than a hand made scone with melting butter on top along with a hot cappuccino on a cold afternoon, right? Café Saudade, located in the village of Sintra, reached by walk from the train station, is an ideal place to have lunch on a rainy afternoon. An old queijadas factory became this space, which has very Portuguese decorative elements such as exposed swallows or Barcelos roosters.

The scones XL will satisfy the most gluttonous appetites and you can also opt for brunch, the giant sandwiches, the homemade cake slices or toast on raisin bread. It is guaranteed that you will leave satisfied of this space so welcoming, which has an extensive list and affable employees.
